As the last few days of August creep up on us, I can’t believe how quickly this month has gone. It has been jam packed.
At home we celebrated Dizzy turning 9, and Evie’s 7yr anniversary of coming to live with us. Yes, I do have all of my duck’s birthdays and celebrations in the diary – they are family after all! As Dizzy was part of my original flock, made up of 3 Campbells, this month celebrates 9 years of me keeping ducks. The biggest lesson I have learnt is that it is almost impossible to get all of your ducks in a row; but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun giving it a go.
We also celebrated the 2yr anniversary for when we collected Tweed from Exmoor. He had his favourite walk and a dog cupcake to celebrate.
I’ve driven a fair few miles this month; visiting Oxfordshire, Suffolk & The Cotswolds for photoshoots. Luckily avoiding most of the rain! I got to revisit and photograph two previous clients; a few years on from their last photoshoots, it is always lovely to return and catch up.
For a while I’ve wanted to do a photoshoot to create an entirely black & white collection. I love how when you remove colour it draws your eye immediately into the story of the photograph, no distractions. So, I went to visit Gracie (well known as @pony_nuts on instagram) for the creative photoshoot. I’ve only edited a few sneak peeks so far, but I’m very excited to complete the collection.
Whilst in The Cotswolds I visited Daylesford for the first time, as I was driving past the door I couldn’t not stop in. I may have made a purchase or two!
I’ve hosted photographer mentorship sessions over zoom this month, and checked in with my mentorship clients. Alongside many hours of editing and completing galleries for clients.
Lastly, I was very excited to see one of my photographs of Charlie’s (well known as @askcharlie on instagram) family has been published in the Good Housekeeping Magazine this month!
